How to Uninstall Ashkon Software Products

All Ashkon Software products use the standard Windows uninstaller. You can remove any of them in a minute from Windows Settings or Control Panel, on Windows 7 through Windows 11.

Windows 11 and Windows 10

  1. Close the program. Quit the Ashkon program you want to remove. If it shows an icon in the notification area (system tray) or runs as an application bar, right-click the icon and choose Exit.
  2. Open Installed apps. Right-click the Start button and choose Installed apps (Windows 11) or Apps and Features (Windows 10). You can also open Settings → Apps.
  3. Find the program. Type the product name, for example “Website Thumbnail Capture”, in the search box above the list.
  4. Uninstall. On Windows 11 click the … button next to the program and choose Uninstall. On Windows 10 click the program, then click Uninstall.
  5. Confirm. Click Uninstall again to confirm and, if User Account Control asks for permission, click Yes. Follow the prompts of the uninstaller until it finishes.

Any version of Windows: Control Panel

This method works on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and 11.

  1. Open Programs and Features. Press Win+R, type appwiz.cpl and press Enter. Or open Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features.
  2. Select the program. Find the Ashkon product in the list and select it.
  3. Uninstall. Click Uninstall (or Uninstall/Change) above the list and follow the prompts.

If the program is not in the list

  • Search the Start menu. Type the product name, right-click it and choose Uninstall; Windows opens the uninstall list with the program selected.
  • The uninstall fails because a file is in use. Make sure the program is closed, restart Windows and try again.
  • Installed by another user. Sign in with an administrator account; uninstalling requires administrator rights.
  • Leftover folder. After uninstalling you can delete the program’s folder in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86) if it is still there.

Reinstalling or moving to a new computer

Uninstalling does not cancel your license. To install the program again, download the latest version from the Download page and apply the license key from your registration email – see How to apply your license key.
