About Premier Financial Corp
Premier Financial, through its subsidiaries, offered banking services in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Deposit products included demand, checking, money market and savings accounts, CDs, the CDARS service and investment products.
It made residential and commercial real estate, business, construction, home improvement, home equity, installment and consumer loans. It also invested in U.S. Treasury and agency debt, municipal bonds, agency mortgage-backed securities, residential CMOs and corporate bonds. Other services included insurance agency work, mezzanine funding, and digital banking with mobile banking, Zelle, online bill pay and the MoneyPass ATM network.
Formerly First Defiance Financial Corp., it became Premier Financial in June 2020. It was founded in 1920 and based in Defiance, Ohio. As of February 28, 2025, it became a subsidiary of WesBanco, Inc. Its stock was delisted from the Nasdaq in February 2025, with the last trade on February 28, 2025 at $28.04.
