Akoustis Technologies, Inc., through its subsidiary Akoustis, Inc., designed, built and sold radio frequency (RF) filters for the wireless industry across the Americas, Asia and Europe. Its two segments were Fabrication Services, which offered engineering review and backend packaging, and RF Filters, which sold amplifier and filter products.
Its filters went into smartphones and tablets, cellular infrastructure, Wi-Fi customer premise equipment, and military and defense uses. It also sold surface acoustic wave and crystal resonators, oscillators and ceramic products, and offered back-end semiconductor supply chain services.
Based in Huntersville, North Carolina, the company and its affiliates filed for Chapter 11 reorganization in Delaware on December 16, 2024. Its stock was delisted from the Nasdaq in November 2025, with the last trade on November 5, 2025.
