HashiCorp sold multi-cloud infrastructure automation software worldwide. Its provisioning tools included Terraform, which lets IT teams define infrastructure as code instead of using manual, ticket-based steps; Packer, which standardizes building production-ready images; and Vagrant, which defines development environments.
Security products included Vault, for secrets management and data protection based on application and user identity, and Boundary, for identity-based privileged access. Consul automated application networking and traffic control, Nomad scheduled and orchestrated workloads, and Waypoint gave developers a build, deploy and release workflow.
The HashiCorp Cloud Platform offered these products as fully managed services to help enterprises move to the cloud faster. The company was incorporated in 2012 and based in San Francisco, California. IBM acquired it on February 27, 2025 for $35.00 in cash per share, and the final trade was on February 26, 2025 at $34.78.
