About Patterson Companies Inc
Patterson Companies distributed dental and animal health products. It reported three segments: Dental, Animal Health, and Corporate.
The Dental segment sold consumables such as infection control items, restorative materials and instruments, plus dental equipment and technology. It also offered practice management software, e-commerce, billing and patient engagement tools, education systems, and services such as design, repair and equipment financing.
Animal Health supplied biologicals, drugs, vaccines, parasite treatments, diagnostics, diets, supplies and equipment, along with private-label lines under the Aspen, First Companion and Patterson Veterinary names. Customers included dentists, labs, vets, livestock producers and retailers, and the Corporate segment provided customer financing.
Formerly Patterson Dental Company, it took its current name in June 2004. It was founded in 1877 and based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Patient Square Capital took it private on April 17, 2025 for $31.35 in cash per share; the final trade was on April 16, 2025 at $31.33.
