Edap Tms S.A. (FOCL)

EDAP TMS S.A. is a French medical technology company that develops, manufactures and sells minimally invasive therapeutic devices. Its core business is high-intensity focused ultrasound, or HIFU, used to ablate tissue without incisions. Its flagship Focal One system is used for the focal treatment of prostate cancer, guided by MRI and ultrasound image fusion.

The company is also exploring HIFU applications in other conditions, such as endometriosis and benign tumors. Historically, EDAP has been known for extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy systems used to break up kidney stones, and it distributes urology equipment from other manufacturers in certain markets.

EDAP TMS is headquartered in Vaulx-en-Velin, near Lyon, France, and sells its products to hospitals and urology clinics in Europe, the United States and Asia. Its American Depositary Shares, each representing one ordinary share, trade on the Nasdaq.
