About Chimerix Inc
Chimerix was a U.S. biopharmaceutical company developing medicines for deadly diseases. Its lead candidate, dordaviprone (ONC201), was in Phase 3 for H3 K27M-mutant diffuse glioma and in several investigator-led Phase 2 cancer studies. ONC206, a second-generation imipridone, was in Phase 1 for central nervous system and other solid tumors.
It also had ONC212, a preclinical imipridone, and CMX521, an antiviral candidate for novel coronaviruses. The company sold TEMBEXA, a smallpox countermeasure that blocks viral DNA synthesis, and licensed it to SymBio Pharmaceuticals for diseases other than orthopoxviruses.
Chimerix was incorporated in 2000 and based in Durham, North Carolina. As of April 17, 2025, it became a subsidiary of Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc. Its stock was delisted from the Nasdaq in April 2025, last trading on April 15, 2025 at $8.55.
