Retail Opportunity Investments was a self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT) that bought, owned and managed grocery-anchored shopping centers in dense West Coast metro areas. As of September 30, 2024, it owned 93 centers with about 10.5 million square feet.
It described itself as the largest publicly traded grocery-anchored shopping center REIT focused only on the West Coast. It was part of the S&P SmallCap 600 Index and held investment-grade debt ratings from Moody's, S&P Global Ratings and Fitch.
Blackstone (BX) took ROIC private in February 2025, paying $17.50 in cash per share, and as of February 12, 2025 it became a subsidiary of Blackstone Real Estate Advisors. The last trade was on February 11, 2025 at $17.49.
