About EMCORE Corporation
EMCORE, with its subsidiaries, designed and built inertial sensors and systems using fiber optic gyros, ring laser gyros and quartz MEMS technology. It sold in the U.S., Canada, Asia, Europe and elsewhere.
Its fiber optic gyro line ranged from tactical to navigation-grade gyros, inertial measurement units (IMUs) and inertial navigation systems (INS) for drones, line-of-sight stabilization and aviation. Its gyroscopes, accelerometers, IMUs and INS were used for guidance, navigation, pointing and stabilization in military and commercial aircraft, autonomous and land vehicles, guided weapons, and industrial and marine platforms.
Ring laser gyro products supported land navigation, including artillery and radar positioning and battlefield survey systems for U.S. Army operations. Sales went through a direct sales force, application engineers, reps and distributors. The company was founded in 1984 and based in Budd Lake, New Jersey.
Its shares were delisted from the Nasdaq in February 2025, with the last trade on February 28, 2025 at $3.10.
