Brera Holdings PLC (BREA)

Brera Holdings PLC was an Irish-incorporated holding company built around Brera Milano, an amateur football club based in Milan, Italy. Its strategy was a multi-club model: acquiring and developing football and other sports clubs in lower-profile markets and building revenue from sponsorships, events and player development. Over time it added stakes in clubs in countries such as North Macedonia, Mozambique and Mongolia, as well as a volleyball team in Italy. Its Class B ordinary shares traded on the Nasdaq Capital Market as BREA.

The company completed a small initial public offering on Nasdaq in early 2023. Like many micro-cap listings of the time, it had modest revenue, recurring losses and a volatile share price. Management changed several times as the company searched for a path to scale its sports holdings.

In mid-2025 Brera announced a major change of direction, raising capital to build a treasury of SOL, the native token of the Solana blockchain, and to develop crypto infrastructure such as validators and data-center hardware. The new effort was branded Solmate and led by chief executive Marco Santori, with operations based in Abu Dhabi. To reflect the shift, the company changed its Nasdaq ticker from BREA to SLMT effective October 3, 2025.

Shareholders subsequently approved renaming the company Solmate Infrastructure PLC. The listed shares remained the same security, so BREA holders did not need to take any action. The sports club assets became a minor part of the business compared with the Solana strategy.
