About Playa Hotels & Resorts BV
Playa Hotels & Resorts, through its subsidiaries, owned, developed and ran beachfront resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean. In Mexico, its properties were in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, carrying Hyatt Zilara, Hyatt Ziva, Wyndham Alltra and Hilton names.
In Jamaica it operated Hyatt, Hilton and Jewel resorts at Rose Hall, Montego Bay and Paradise Cove. In the Dominican Republic it had Hilton resorts in La Romana and Hyatt resorts in Cap Cana. It also managed resorts for outside owners.
The company was founded in 2006 and based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Hyatt (H) acquired it on June 16, 2025 for $13.50 in cash per share, and the last trade was on June 13, 2025 at $13.48.
