2ndVote Life Neutral Plus ETF (LYFE)

The 2ndVote Life Neutral Plus ETF was an actively managed exchange-traded fund that invested in US stocks while applying a values-based screen. Its sponsor, 2ndVote Advisers, LLC, rated companies on their positions and activities on social and political issues, and this fund focused on how companies scored on matters related to abortion and the sanctity of life. The fund traded on the Cboe BZX Exchange under the symbol LYFE.

Day-to-day portfolio management was handled by sub-adviser Laffer Tengler Investments, Inc. The fund was part of a small family of 2ndVote ETFs that used the firm's issue ratings to build portfolios meant to appeal to socially conservative investors. Like many small, specialized ETFs, it attracted only modest assets. The fund charged a higher fee than broad index funds, which is common for actively managed strategies.

In 2023 2ndVote Advisers decided to exit the investment advisory business, and the board approved closing the fund. LYFE stopped accepting creation orders and its shares last traded after the close on August 3, 2023. From August 4 the fund moved its holdings into cash and stopped following its normal strategy. Investors could sell their shares on the exchange until that date.

The fund was liquidated on or about August 14, 2023, and shareholders still holding shares received a cash distribution through their brokers. There is no successor fund. Those who sold before the last trading day received the market price instead. With the closure of its adviser's fund business, the strategy was not continued by another manager, and the LYFE ticker became available for future use.
