About Levy Acquisition Corp. Units
LEVYU were the units of Levy Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company sponsored by Chicago restaurant entrepreneur Larry Levy. The company completed its initial public offering on NASDAQ in November 2013. Each unit contained one share of common stock and one-half of a warrant, with each whole warrant allowing the purchase of one share at $11.50. The shares and warrants also traded separately as LEVY and LEVYW.
In March 2015 Levy Acquisition agreed to merge with Del Taco Holdings, the operator and franchisor of the Mexican-American quick-service chain based in Lake Forest, California. Ahead of the closing, the company changed its NASDAQ symbols at the open on April 28, 2015, so the units became TACOU, the shares TACO and the warrants TACOW. The merger closed in June 2015 and the company took the name Del Taco Restaurants, Inc. Del Taco's units were later separated into their component shares and warrants. Del Taco remained public until March 2022, when Jack in the Box acquired it for cash and its stock was delisted.
