About KraneShares Rockefeller Ocean Engagement ETF
The KraneShares Rockefeller Ocean Engagement ETF was an actively managed global equity fund built around the so-called blue economy. It invested in companies around the world whose businesses were tied to ocean health and sustainable use of marine resources, such as water treatment, clean shipping, aquaculture and pollution control. Holdings spanned multiple sectors and market capitalizations. Rockefeller Asset Management provided the ocean-focused research and engagement approach behind the portfolio.
KraneShares launched the fund on NYSE Arca on September 12, 2023. The issuer marketed it as one of the first ETFs dedicated to ocean themes, combining stock selection with active engagement with company managements. Like many niche thematic ESG products launched in that period, it gathered only modest assets.
In 2025 the KraneShares board approved the liquidation and termination of the fund. The fund closed to new investment and shares stopped trading on the exchange after the close on May 20, 2025. Remaining shareholders received the fund's net assets when it was liquidated on May 27, 2025.
