Unusual Whales Subversive Republican Trading ETF (KRUZ)

KRUZ was the original ticker of an actively managed exchange-traded fund that invests in stocks bought or sold by Republican members of the U.S. Congress and their families, based on public disclosure filings. The fund holds a broad mix of mostly large U.S. companies and is generally categorized as large blend. It was designed as a companion to a sister fund that follows Democratic lawmakers' trades. The strategy relies on periodic congressional disclosures, so holdings lag the underlying trades.

The fund launched on February 7, 2023 on the Cboe BZX exchange as the Unusual Whales Subversive Republican Trading ETF, alongside the Democratic-focused fund with the ticker NANC. Tidal Financial Group served as the adviser of record, with Subversive and the market data firm Unusual Whales lending their names to the products. The pair drew attention as a way for investors to mirror the publicly reported trades of lawmakers.

On March 18, 2025, Tidal announced that the Republican fund would switch its ticker from KRUZ to GOP, a symbol previously used by a different fund that had closed. The fund itself continued without interruption, so shareholders simply saw the new symbol in their accounts. The fund has since dropped the Unusual Whales name and now trades as the Subversive Congressional Republicans Trading ETF under GOP.
