Kodiak AI, Inc. develops autonomous driving technology for heavy-duty trucks. Its self-driving system combines sensors, software and artificial intelligence to allow Class 8 trucks to operate without a human driver, and the company offers it as a driver-as-a-service model in which customers pay to use its autonomous capability.

Kodiak has focused on long-haul freight routes in the United States, especially in Texas and the Sun Belt, working with carriers and shippers, and it has also deployed driverless trucks in off-road industrial settings such as hauling at energy sites. In addition, the company has worked with the U.S. Department of Defense on autonomous ground vehicle applications.
