Invesco Agency MBS ETF (IMTG)

The Invesco Agency MBS ETF is a fixed income fund from Invesco that invests in agency mortgage-backed securities. These are pools of residential mortgages packaged into bonds and guaranteed by government-sponsored or government agencies such as Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Agency MBS carry the backing of these agencies, which limits credit risk, while their returns are shaped largely by interest rates and by how quickly homeowners prepay or refinance their loans. The fund gives exposure to this large segment of the U.S. bond market in an exchange-traded format, and it may also hold related instruments such as to-be-announced mortgage contracts.
