About Turtle Beach Corporation
Turtle Beach Corporation designs and sells gaming accessories, best known for headsets for Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo and PC players. Its lineup also includes controllers, keyboards, mice, flight-simulation gear and microphones. The brand's roots go back to the 1970s, and it became one of the leading console headset makers as online multiplayer gaming grew.
The current public company took shape in January 2014, when Turtle Beach combined with Parametric Sound, a Nasdaq-listed audio technology company, and the merged business adopted the HEAR ticker. In later years it acquired the German PC peripherals brand ROCCAT and Neat Microphones, and in 2024 it bought Performance Designed Products (PDP), a maker of licensed controllers and accessories, which significantly broadened its product range.
Sales track console cycles and major game releases, with a strong holiday quarter each year. The company went through a cost-cutting program and a proxy contest with an activist shareholder in 2022 and 2023, followed by changes in leadership and its board.
On January 7, 2025, the company replaced its long-time HEAR symbol with TBCH, saying the new ticker better reflected its broader gaming accessories business after the PDP integration. The shares continue to trade on Nasdaq under TBCH.
