The First Trust Small Cap BuyWrite Income ETF (FTKI) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund from First Trust, launched in 2025, that seeks current income and capital appreciation.

The fund holds a portfolio of U.S.-listed small-capitalization stocks and pairs it with a call option writing program. It sells call options on the Russell 2000 Index or on a small-cap ETF and collects premiums as an additional source of income. Writing calls generates cash flow but limits participation in strong upward moves in small-cap stocks.

The equity portfolio is broadly diversified across many small companies and sectors, and the fund distributes the income it generates on a regular basis. Shares trade on NYSE Arca.
