First Trust SMID Growth Strength ETF (FSGS) is an index-based exchange-traded fund from First Trust Advisors. It seeks investment results that correspond to the SMID Growth Strength Index.

The index selects small- and mid-cap U.S. companies that show signs of financial strength and solid operating performance, using screens for factors such as balance sheet quality, profitability and growth. The resulting portfolio holds around one hundred stocks with relatively modest weights in each.

As a passive fund, FSGS holds the index constituents and rebalances according to the index rules rather than relying on discretionary stock picking. The fund is listed on Nasdaq.
