About Emerge EMPWR Sustainable Dividend Equity ETF
The Emerge EMPWR Sustainable Dividend Equity ETF was an actively managed exchange-traded fund that held dividend-paying stocks selected with sustainability criteria in mind. It was one of five U.S. funds in the Emerge EMPWR family, a program launched in 2022 that paired the ETF sponsor Emerge with independent investment managers, highlighting firms led by women and diverse managers.
The fund listed on the Cboe BZX exchange in the fall of 2022. Like the other EMPWR funds, it remained very small, attracting little in the way of assets during a difficult year for both stocks and environmental, social and governance themed investing.
In June 2023 the Emerge ETF Trust announced that it would liquidate and dissolve all five EMPWR funds. Creation orders stopped after June 23, 2023, and the shares last traded on Cboe on July 7, 2023, after which they were delisted.
Shareholders who still held the fund received a cash distribution equal to the net asset value as of July 7, 2023, paid on or about July 14, 2023. The trust later applied to the SEC to deregister, and the affiliated Canadian Emerge ETFs were also wound down later in 2023.
