About Discover Financial Services
Discover Financial Services, through its subsidiaries, offered digital banking and payment services in the U.S. It had two segments, Digital Banking and Payment Services.
Digital Banking issued Discover credit cards and made personal and home loans. It also took deposits online through savings, checking, money market and sweep accounts, CDs, and IRA products.
Payment Services ran the PULSE network for ATM, debit and electronic funds transfers, the Diners Club payments network, and a Network Partners business that handled transaction processing, merchant acquiring and ATM access worldwide.
Discover was incorporated in 1960 and based in Riverwoods, Illinois. Capital One (COF) acquired it in May 2025, and as of May 18, 2025 it became a subsidiary of Capital One Financial Corporation. The final trade was on May 16, 2025 at $200.05.
