FT Vest Laddered Small Cap Moderate Buffer ETF (BUFS)

The FT Vest Laddered Small Cap Moderate Buffer ETF (BUFS) invests in a series of FT Vest small-cap moderate buffer ETFs with staggered outcome periods. Each underlying fund uses FLEX options linked to a small-cap U.S. equity benchmark, such as the Russell 2000, to buffer a moderate portion of losses over its period while capping upside.

Holding multiple series that reset at different times of the year spreads out reset risk and blends the caps and buffers of each tranche. The fund thereby provides U.S. small-cap equity exposure with a defined-outcome overlay in a single ticker.
