About Artemis Strategic Investment Corporation
Artemis Strategic Investment Corporation was a special purpose acquisition company listed on Nasdaq. Its Class A common stock traded as ARTE, with units as ARTEU and warrants as ARTEW. The SPAC was formed to combine with a private business and take it public, with a focus on the gaming, hospitality and entertainment sectors. Proceeds from its public offering were held in a trust account until a deal closed or the company liquidated.
Artemis went public in 2021 and in 2022 agreed to merge with Novibet, a Greek online sports betting and iGaming operator. The deal was amended once but was terminated in June 2023. Artemis then signed an agreement to merge with Danam Health, a healthcare services company, while seeking more time to complete a transaction.
The Danam Health agreement was terminated effective October 26, 2023, and Artemis announced that it would liquidate and dissolve as of the close of business that day. Public shares were redeemed for a pro rata portion of the trust account, including accrued interest, less a small amount reserved for dissolution expenses. The sponsor waived redemption rights on its founder shares, and the warrants expired worthless. The stock was removed from Nasdaq indexes in early November 2023 as the company wound down.
