AstroNova, Inc. (ALOT)

AstroNova, headquartered in West Warwick, Rhode Island, designed and manufactured specialty printers and data acquisition systems. The company was incorporated in 1969 as Astro-Med, Inc., and later changed its name to AstroNova to reflect a broader product range. Its common stock traded on the Nasdaq Global Market under the ticker ALOT.

The company reported in two segments. The Product Identification segment sold digital color label printers and presses under the QuickLabel and TrojanLabel brands, together with label materials, tags, inks, toners and ribbons, and software for label design. Customers included brand owners, label converters and commercial printers in industries such as food and beverage, chemicals, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and medical products.

The Test and Measurement segment supplied equipment for aerospace and other technical applications. Its products included the ToughWriter cockpit printers used for flight information and weather maps, ToughSwitch ethernet switches, and data acquisition systems and recorders for testing and telemetry. This segment served the aerospace and defense, automotive, energy and transportation markets, among others.

On June 16, 2026, AstroNova announced that it had agreed to be acquired by Arcline Investment Management, a private investment firm, in an all-cash transaction valued at about $242 million. Shareholders were to receive $29.00 per share. The transaction was structured as a merger in which AstroNova became a wholly owned subsidiary of an Arcline affiliate.

The deal closed on August 26, 2026. Outstanding options, restricted stock units and performance stock units vested and were converted into the right to receive the same $29.00 per share, and AstroNova's amended credit agreement dated July 30, 2020 was repaid and terminated. The previous board resigned, and the company's stock was delisted from the Nasdaq Global Market, with a Form 25 filed on August 27, 2026. AstroNova continues to operate as a privately held company.
