About X-Energy, Inc.
X-Energy, Inc. is a nuclear reactor and fuel design company headquartered in Rockville, Maryland. It is developing the Xe-100, a small modular high-temperature gas-cooled reactor. The Xe-100 uses helium as its coolant and is designed to produce both electricity and high-temperature process heat for industrial uses.
The reactor is fueled by TRISO-X pebbles: billiard-ball-sized spheres packed with thousands of coated uranium fuel particles that are designed to hold in fission products at very high temperatures. Through its TRISO-X subsidiary, the company is building a facility to manufacture this fuel. X-energy has received U.S. Department of Energy support under the Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program. It has worked with Dow on a planned deployment at an industrial site in Texas, and with Amazon on plans for reactors to power data centers.
Its Class A common stock trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker XE.
