VistaShares Shield S&P 500 Enhanced Protection ETF (VOOB) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to provide exposure to the S&P 500 Index while using options to limit losses during market declines. It aims to give shareholders participation in U.S. large-cap stock gains with a layer of downside protection.

The fund combines equity exposure to the S&P 500 with an options overlay designed to cushion against market drops, which generally reduces some upside participation in exchange for the protection. Its results depend on the movement of the S&P 500 as well as on the cost and payoff of the protective options it holds, so it will not fully track the index in either rising or falling markets.
