U-Haul Holding Company operates as a do-it-yourself moving and storage service provider for household and commercial goods in the United States and Canada. The Moving and Storage segment rents trucks, trailers, portable moving and storage units, specialty rental items, and self-storage spaces primarily to household movers. It also sells moving supplies, towing accessories, and propane. Additionally, it offers uhaul.com, an online marketplace connecting consumers to independent Moving Help service providers and self-storage affiliates, as well as auto transport and tow dolly options, and specialty boxes for dishes, electronics, and other sensitive items. This segment operates through approximately 2,100 company-operated retail moving stores and 21,100 independent U-Haul dealers. As of March 31, 2022, U-Haul had a rental fleet of about 186,000 trucks, 128,000 trailers, and 46,000 towing devices, along with 1,844 self-storage locations offering around 876,000 rentable storage units.

The Property and Casualty Insurance segment provides loss adjusting and claims handling services. It also offers moving and storage protection packages, such as Safemove and Safetow, which include damage waivers, cargo protection, and medical and life insurance coverage for moving and towing customers. Safestor protects storage customers' goods, while Safestor Mobile covers belongings stored in mobile units. Safemove Plus provides rental customers with primary liability protection.

The Life Insurance segment offers life and health insurance products primarily targeting the senior market. These products include life insurance, Medicare supplements, and annuity policies, provided through direct writing and reinsurance. Founded in 1945 and formerly known as AMERCO, U-Haul Holding Company is headquartered in Reno, Nevada.
