Standard Nuclear, Inc. (STDN)

Standard Nuclear, Inc. is a U.S. nuclear fuel company focused on making TRISO (tristructural isotropic) coated-particle fuel and related fuel forms for advanced nuclear reactors. Its operations are centered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

TRISO fuel encases small kernels of uranium in several layers of carbon and ceramic coatings. These coatings are designed to hold in fission products at very high temperatures. The fuel is meant for high-temperature gas-cooled reactors, microreactors and other advanced reactor designs being developed for commercial, government and defense uses.

The company was built on fuel manufacturing assets formerly owned by Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation. It aims to supply fuel to reactor developers and government programs. Its Class A common stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange.
