Scribe Therapeutics Inc. is a genome editing company based in the San Francisco Bay Area, founded by scientists including CRISPR pioneer Jennifer Doudna.

The company engineers its own CRISPR-based editing systems, built on the CasX family of enzymes, which it designs to be compact, specific, and suited to delivery inside the body. Its lead programs aim to deliver one-time in vivo treatments for cardiometabolic diseases, including permanently lowering LDL cholesterol by editing the PCSK9 gene. It also partners with larger pharmaceutical companies on additional programs.
