newcleo plc (NWCL) is a nuclear energy technology company founded in 2021 that is developing advanced small modular reactors cooled by liquid lead. Its reactor designs are intended to provide compact, low-carbon power for electricity grids, industrial sites and potentially marine applications.

A distinctive part of newcleo's strategy is its focus on fuel recycling. The company plans to fuel its fast reactors with mixed uranium and plutonium oxide (MOX) produced from existing spent nuclear fuel and depleted uranium, aiming to reduce the volume of long-lived nuclear waste while making use of material already stockpiled in Europe.
