MPLX LP (MPLX)

MPLX LP, based in Findlay, Ohio, owns and runs midstream energy infrastructure and logistics assets, mostly in the United States. It was formed in 2012 by Marathon Petroleum Corporation. It reports two segments: Logistics and Storage, and Gathering and Processing. Its work includes gathering, processing and moving natural gas; fractionating, exchanging, storing and marketing natural gas liquids; and gathering, storing, moving and distributing crude oil, refined products and other hydrocarbons.

The partnership also has an inland marine business that carries light products, heavy oils and renewable fuels in the Mid-Continent and Gulf Coast regions. It owns boats and barges and a marine repair facility on the Ohio River. Other services include refining logistics, terminals, rail facilities and storage caverns.

Its terminals receive, store, blend and send out refined petroleum products by pipeline, rail, water and truck. The partnership continues to expand its midstream business to serve energy demand in U.S. and international markets.
