Legato Merger Corp. IV is a special purpose acquisition company, or blank-check company. It was organized to raise money through an initial public offering and then use those funds to complete a merger or similar business combination with one or more private operating companies.

The company has no operations of its own. Its sponsor team has led several earlier Legato Merger blank-check vehicles, which pursued combinations with companies in industrial, infrastructure and energy-related businesses. Until a deal is completed, the IPO proceeds are typically held in a trust account and public shareholders may redeem their shares in connection with a proposed combination. Its ordinary shares trade on NYSE American under the ticker LEGO.
