Hennessy Capital Investment Corp. VIII (HCIC)

Hennessy Capital Investment Corp. VIII is a special purpose acquisition company, or blank-check company, formed to raise capital in an initial public offering and then combine with one or more operating businesses through a merger, share exchange, asset acquisition or similar transaction.

It is the eighth blank-check vehicle in the Hennessy Capital series sponsored by an affiliate of Daniel Hennessy. Earlier Hennessy Capital SPACs focused largely on industrial technology and related sectors and completed combinations with companies in areas such as specialty vehicles and industrial equipment.

As with other SPACs, the company has no operating business. The proceeds from its offering are held in a trust account until a business combination is completed, and holders of its Class A ordinary shares generally have redemption rights in connection with a proposed deal.
