Genesis Energy, L.P. (GEL)

Genesis Energy, L.P. provides midstream transportation and handling services for the crude oil and natural gas industry. Its Offshore Pipeline Transportation segment owns interests in about 1,422 miles of offshore pipelines, including in the deepwater southern Keathley Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico. Its Sodium Minerals and Sulfur Services segment extracts sulfur for ten refining operations, runs related storage and transport assets, and supplies sodium hydrosulfide and caustic soda to miners.

The Onshore Facilities and Transportation segment buys, moves, stores, blends and markets crude oil and refined products for Gulf Coast refiners and producers. It uses trucks, trailers, railcars, terminals and 4.2 million barrels of Gulf Coast storage. It also runs four onshore crude pipeline systems totaling about 450 miles in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, and four rail unloading sites in Baton Rouge and Raceland, Louisiana; Walnut Hill, Florida; and Natchez, Mississippi.

The Marine Transportation segment carries petroleum and crude oil by water in North America, using 91 barges with 3.2 million barrels of capacity and 42 push/tow boats. The company also produces natural soda ash. Founded in 1996 and based in Houston, Texas, it is overseen by its general partner, Genesis Energy, LLC.
