First Trust Balanced Income ETF (FTBI)

The First Trust Balanced Income ETF (FTBI) is a First Trust fund that launched in 2025 and seeks to track the Bloomberg Moderate Allocation Income Focus Index. It is built as a multi-asset, income-oriented portfolio rather than a single-asset fund.

The index allocates across tiers of exchange-traded funds covering three broad asset classes: equities, investment-grade fixed income and commodities. Within each sleeve the emphasis is on income, so the fund holds a mix of other ETFs, including option-income and dividend-focused equity funds as well as bond funds, many of them managed by First Trust. The approach gives investors a moderate allocation strategy packaged in one fund of funds.
