About First Seacoast Bancorp

First Seacoast Bancorp, Inc. was the holding company for First Seacoast Bank, a community savings bank headquartered in Dover, New Hampshire. The bank was established in 1890 and over its long history served households and businesses in the Seacoast region of New Hampshire and nearby areas. It operated for most of that time as a traditional mutual savings institution.

The bank offered non-interest-bearing and interest-bearing checking accounts, savings accounts, money market accounts and time deposits. Its lending activity included one- to four-family residential mortgages, commercial real estate and multifamily loans, commercial and industrial loans, home equity loans and lines of credit, consumer loans, and acquisition, development and land loans. It also offered wealth management services such as retirement planning, portfolio management and insurance products.

The company first became publicly traded in 2019, when First Seacoast Bank reorganized into the mutual holding company structure and sold a minority stake to the public, with the shares listed on Nasdaq under the symbol FSEA. In January 2023 the company completed a second-step conversion, in which the mutual holding company was eliminated and a new stock holding company, First Seacoast Bancorp, Inc., became the parent of the bank.

As an independent public company, First Seacoast operated with a modest asset base and a relatively small scale compared with regional competitors. Like many New England thrifts, it dealt with margin pressure from higher funding costs and with the expense of running a public company, which are common reasons smaller institutions look at combinations with larger partners.

On May 5, 2026, First Seacoast and Cambridge Financial Group, Inc., the parent of Cambridge Savings Bank in Massachusetts, announced a definitive agreement to merge in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $80.9 million, or $17.25 per share. First Seacoast stockholders approved the merger at a special meeting on August 27, 2026, and the transaction received its final regulatory clearance on September 24, 2026.

Under the agreement, First Seacoast Bancorp merged into Cambridge Financial Group and First Seacoast Bank merged into Cambridge Savings Bank, with closing targeted for October 1, 2026. A Form 25 was filed on October 1, 2026 to remove the common stock from Nasdaq, ending its public trading under the FSEA symbol.
