Amana Developing World ETF (AMEM)

The Amana Developing World ETF (AMEM) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund advised by Saturna Capital, the Bellingham, Washington-based manager of the Amana funds. It invests in stocks of companies in developing, or emerging-market, countries in accordance with Islamic investment principles.

The fund seeks long-term capital growth through companies based in or doing substantial business in developing economies. Consistent with Islamic principles, it excludes businesses primarily involved in interest-based finance, alcohol, gambling, pork products and similar activities, and it avoids companies with excessive debt or interest income.

The fund applies the same faith-based investment approach as the Amana mutual fund family. Its shares are listed on Nasdaq.
