The company was formerly known as United States Cellular Corporation. It adopted the Array name after selling its wireless customer operations and a portion of its spectrum to T-Mobile, keeping its tower portfolio as the core of the business while also holding remaining spectrum licenses and minority interests in other wireless partnerships. The company is majority owned by Telephone and Data Systems and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.
