Continental Resources Inc (CLR) is an American petroleum and natural gas exploration and production company headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The company was founded in 1967 and focuses on the exploration, development, production, and marketing of oil and natural gas properties in the United States. Continental Resources operates primarily in the Bakken Shale in North Dakota and Montana, the SCOOP and STACK plays in Oklahoma, and the Powder River Basin in Wyoming. The company is one of the largest leaseholders in the Bakken and is known for pioneering drilling and completion techniques in the shale industry. As of 2021, the company had proven reserves of approximately 1.5 billion barrels of oil equivalent.
