CHKE - Cherokee Inc.

Cherokee Inc. logo Cherokee Inc. (CHKE) was a publicly-traded global brand marketing platform based in the United States. The company was founded in 1973 and operated a portfolio of fashion and lifestyle brands, including Cherokee, Tony Hawk, and Hi-Tec, among others. Cherokee's business model focused on licensing its brands to retailers and manufacturers, who would then produce and distribute products under the brand names.

In 2020, Cherokee filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and subsequently sold its assets to a group of investors led by Henry Stupp, the former CEO of Cherokee, and Jamie Salter, the CEO of Authentic Brands Group. Following the sale, the company was renamed to Apex Global Brands Inc. and continued to operate as a brand licensing company.

As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, Apex Global Brands Inc. was still a publicly-traded company on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the ticker symbol APEX. However, it's worth noting that the stock market can be volatile, and the current status of any company's stock may have changed since my cutoff date. Additionally, potential investors should carefully consider the risks associated with investing in a company that has recently undergone bankruptcy proceedings.
