Nuveen Municipal Credit Opportunities Fund logo Nuveen Municipal Credit Opportunities Fund (NMCO) is a closed-end management investment company that primarily invests in investment-grade municipal securities that generate tax-exempt income. The fund seeks to provide current income exempt from regular federal income tax and to enhance portfolio value by selectively investing in municipal securities that the portfolio managers believe offer attractive opportunities for income and capital appreciation.

As of December 31, 2021, the fund had total net assets of approximately $643 million and held a portfolio of 336 securities. The fund has a focus on bonds issued by states and municipalities with below-average credit quality, such as Puerto Rico and Illinois.

NMCO is managed by Nuveen Fund Advisors, LLC, a subsidiary of Nuveen, LLC. The fund was listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in May 2018 and trades under the ticker symbol "NMCO." The fund has an expense ratio of 1.16% and pays a monthly distribution to its shareholders.
