About Fuwei Films (Holdings) Co., Ltd.

Fuwei Films was a Chinese maker of biaxially oriented polyester film, known as BOPET. The film is used in packaging, printing, electrical insulation and imaging applications. The company's factories were in Dongying, in Shandong province. It was one of a handful of Chinese industrial firms with a NASDAQ listing, trading under the symbol FFHL.

The company listed on NASDAQ in December 2006. Its business was exposed to heavy price competition as Chinese film capacity grew, and it reported losses in many years. The share count was small and the stock was thinly traded. Over time the company looked for a strategic deal to give shareholders a better outcome.

In 2022 Fuwei Films agreed to combine with BaiJiaYun Limited, a Chinese provider of video cloud and real-time communication software. The merger was completed on December 23, 2022, and BaiJiaYun's owners took control of the combined company. It was renamed Baijiayun Group Ltd, and its NASDAQ ticker changed from FFHL to RTC on December 30, 2022. The original film business was later divested so the company could focus on video software.

Baijiayun went on to describe itself as an AI video solutions provider. It later fell out of compliance with NASDAQ's minimum bid price rule, and Nasdaq filed a Form 25 in August 2025 to withdraw the RTC listing. Older FFHL quotes therefore point to a company that no longer trades on a major U.S. exchange.
