EGPT - Vaneck Egypt Index ETF

Vaneck Egypt Index ETF logoThe VanEck Egypt Index ETF (EGPT) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the MVIS Egypt Index, which is comprised of publicly traded companies that are domiciled and primarily listed in Egypt, or that generate at least 50% of their revenues in Egypt.

The fund was launched on February 16, 2010, and is designed to provide investors with exposure to Egypt's rapidly developing economy. As of March 23, 2023, the fund had a total net asset value of approximately $69.8 million and held 27 securities in its portfolio.

The top sectors represented in the fund are financials, materials, and real estate, while the top individual holdings include Commercial International Bank, Talaat Moustafa Group, and Global Telecom Holding.

EGPT is one of the few ETFs that offer direct exposure to Egypt, making it a useful tool for investors looking to diversify their portfolios and gain exposure to a country with a large and growing population, strategic location, and improving economic indicators. However, investors should be aware of the potential risks associated with investing in emerging market securities, including political instability, currency risk, and liquidity risk.
