About iShares iBonds Dec 2025 Term Corporate ETF
The iShares iBonds Dec 2025 Term Corporate ETF was a target-maturity bond fund that held investment-grade U.S. corporate bonds maturing in 2025. Unlike a conventional bond ETF, which rolls its holdings indefinitely, an iBonds fund is designed to wind down on a set date, giving investors a portfolio that behaves somewhat like a single bond with a defined end point while still offering diversification across many issuers.
The fund launched on March 12, 2015 and traded on NYSE Arca under IBDQ. Over the following decade it grew into one of the larger funds in the iBonds corporate series, used by investors building bond ladders. As its holdings matured during 2025, the proceeds were held in cash and short-term Treasury instruments.
As planned, the fund's final net asset value was calculated on December 15, 2025, trading ended and the fund liquidated on or about December 16, 2025, and shareholders received their final cash distributions by December 18, 2025. Later-dated funds in the same series continue to trade.
