Exa Corporation, now part of Dassault Systèmes, was a global provider of simulation software for product engineering. Their solutions were used to optimize designs, reduce physical prototypes, and improve the performance of complex products in industries such as automotive, aerospace, and defense.
Exa's main product was PowerFLOW, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software that simulated how fluids like air or water would behave in real-world scenarios. This allowed engineers to test and improve the aerodynamics of cars, planes, and other vehicles without building physical prototypes.
Exa also offered a suite of other simulation products, including PowerDELTA (for design exploration), PowerCASE (for vehicle thermal management), and PowerVIZ (for visualizing and analyzing simulation results).
In September 2017, Dassault Systèmes acquired Exa Corporation for approximately $400 million, integrating their technology into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to expand their offerings in virtual product verification and validation.
