ESGN - Columbia Sustainable International ETF

Columbia Sustainable International ETF logoThe Columbia Sustainable International ETF (ESGN) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the Beta Advantage Sustainable Developed ex-US Index. The fund aims to provide exposure to international equity securities of companies with strong ESG (environmental, social, and governance) characteristics.

ESGN's underlying index employs a rules-based methodology that uses MSCI ESG ratings to evaluate companies on their environmental, social, and governance performance. The index then selects the top 50% of securities within each sector that meet certain liquidity and ESG requirements. The result is a portfolio of around 400 to 600 stocks from developed markets outside the United States.

The fund's expense ratio is 0.20%, which is relatively low compared to similar ESG-focused ETFs. As of March 23, 2023, the fund had total net assets of around $1.5 billion.

ESGN provides investors with a way to invest in companies with strong ESG characteristics in developed markets outside the United States. The fund's focus on sustainability may appeal to investors who prioritize environmental, social, and governance factors in their investment decisions. However, as with all investments, there are risks to consider, including the potential for market volatility and the possibility of loss of principal.
