EQTY - Kovitz Core Equity ETF

Kovitz Core Equity ETF logoThe Kovitz Core Equity ETF (EQTY) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks to provide long-term capital appreciation. The fund invests in a diversified portfolio of 25-40 high-quality, growth-oriented companies across all market capitalizations. The investment team uses a proprietary investment process to identify companies with strong balance sheets, attractive growth prospects, and sustainable competitive advantages.

EQTY aims to provide investors with exposure to a select group of high-quality companies with strong growth potential, while also maintaining a level of downside protection. The fund's investment process incorporates fundamental analysis, quantitative screening, and risk management techniques to identify and manage risk.

EQTY's portfolio is focused on U.S. equities, with a tilt towards mid- and small-cap companies. The fund's top holdings include companies such as Microsoft Corp., Inc., and Alphabet Inc. Class A.

EQTY has an expense ratio of 0.89%, which is higher than many passive index ETFs, but is in line with other actively managed equity ETFs. The fund is relatively new, having launched in October 2018, and as of March 2023, it has around $68 million in assets under management.

Investors considering EQTY should note that it is an actively managed fund and therefore subject to potential manager risk. Additionally, as with all equity investments, there is a risk of loss of principal. Investors should carefully consider their investment objectives and risk tolerance before investing in EQTY or any other ETF.
