About 23Andme Holding Co
23andMe was a consumer genetic testing company operating in the U.S., the U.K., Canada and elsewhere. It had two segments: Consumer and Research Services, and Therapeutics.
Its Personal Genome Service gave customers reports on ancestry, genetic health risks, carrier status for certain rare conditions, and how genes may affect drug response. The segment also ran the Lemonaid telehealth platform, which connected patients with licensed clinicians for common conditions, and sold research services.
The Therapeutics segment researched new drugs in oncology, immunology, inflammation and other areas, and licensed out rights to drug targets. Its programs included 23ME-00610, an antibody blocking CD200R1-CD200 interaction; GSK6097608, which targets CD96; and 23ME-01473, which targets ULBP6 in the NKG2D pathway. It also worked with Mirador Therapeutics.
Founded in 2006 and based in South San Francisco, the company filed for Chapter 11 in the Eastern District of Missouri on March 23, 2025. Its stock was delisted from the Nasdaq in March 2025, with the last trade on March 28, 2025 at $0.61.
