Using Historical Quotes Downloader Data in Elliott Wave Analyzer

Elliott Wave Analyzer can open the text files downloaded by Historical Quotes Downloader once you define their ASCII format. The steps below use daily data.

1. Set up Historical Quotes Downloader

On the Download Settings tab, set:

Date Format	YYMMDD
Date Separator	None
Add Header	Unchecked
Reverse Dates Order	Checked

Then download the symbols you need.

2. Select the data folder

Start Elliott Wave Analyzer and choose File > Open. Select the Historical Quotes Downloader data folder (by default Documents\Historical Quotes Downloader\Data), set Server to Files Only and Compression/Interval to Daily / 1.

3. Define the ASCII format

Click Define ASCII. Click Add and type txt as the file extension.
Select the data folder again.
Set the date format to yymmdd and the delimiter to Comma.
Set the fields to match the file: Date, Open, High, Low, Close, Volume. Use the sample file contents at the bottom of the dialog to check them.
Click Save/Close.

Choose File > Open again: the list of securities appears and you can open the charts.

Importing ASCII data requires the registered version of Elliott Wave Analyzer.
